Well you wouldn't hear me complain if they got back together! [img]tongue.gif[/img] Their gig at the London Arena in Dec 2000 is still one of the best ones that I've ever been to! The atmosphere was bloody fantastic and he's never sounded better than he did then, imo. It was a totally fab evening. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I never saw them live cause by the time I got there they had been and done oz lol
But I have so many live performances on tape and by god they are good!!
Theres nothing like a great voice combined with magic music.

I always find it so weird that I adored TTMAB from the first time I heard it and loved their music from afar, not having any idea about the band. Didn't I Don't Care get removed from the album for some reason like it had to make way for IKILY because Sony wanted another TMD? Such a shame as it conveys the utter loneliness of Darren's situation so well. And I love the fact that in the Affirmation notes Daniel says 'Darren - people may tell you that you feel too much but I Don't Care!' because you'd have to know a bit about the group to understand the reference.
I too think Where You Want To Be is an absolute masterpiece - and if I had to choose one song that for me is the ultimate Darren song it would be that one. Would be a close thing with a couple of TTATS and possibly Insatiable.
I should apologise too for being mean about the other not so good b-sides. I just think that some of his songs are so near 100% perfection that to balance the average there would have to be some that really aren't very good at all. And I'd much rather have an artist whose music ranges vastly than mediocrity as the norm. And to be fair, there is a reason why some of them are B-sides or demos, because they weren't judged good enough for an album.
Though I agree Kat that WYWTB deserved so much better than to be a b-side, though aren't the fans the lucky ones to be given such a perfect song which wasn't well-known to the public in general? I think it makes it so much more special because of that. It is so beautifully heartbreaking and still brings me to tears now.
